The Panamanian Cultural Arts Center is a private, cultural, and educational organization created on April 1999 by Victor Grimaldo, who is its Director and Curator.
The main goal of this organization is to preserve, present, and promote the different manifestations of the Culture of Panama, through its music, dances, traditions, literature, paintings, arts & crafts, cuisine, etc, amongst the multicultural population of California, and other areas. The Panamanian Cultural Arts Center organizes and coordinates displays and exhibitions with museums, schools, universities, and other cultural centers, where the Panamanian representation is requested. Ballet Folklórico Viva Panama is a private, cultural, educational, and entertainment organization created and directed by Víctor Grimaldo on April 1991, who realized that Panamanian Culture was not represented amongst the multicultural festivals in the Southern California area. Viva Panama 's main goal is to provide audiences with a high quality sample of the spirit and flavor of Panama. This dance company's repertoire is composed of original pieces approached with a contemporary vision, striving to preserve the originality and authenticity in the rhythms and movements of the traditional dances, Viva Panama brings forth the true spirit of the Panamanian people. Viva Panama consists of a group of talented individuals; from diverse professional fields, who enjoy sharing their culture through music and dance. Currently, Ballet Folklórico Viva Panama maintains a full performance schedule all year long throughout California, Texas, and Puerto Rico. This year, this dance company has been invited to perform in Italy, Mexico, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela. |
