In her studio, Susan focuses on human and animal portraits that bring something out in her subjects. She often uses alternative materials to draw the characters off the canvas. Though she suffered from depression as a child, she is now relevantly positive and focuses on work that inspires happiness and hope.
Susan is also a talented muralist and enjoys the challenge of such enormous walls to fill. In her mural art, Susan's style is a lot more varied and experimental. Her late grandfather, Howard Benbrook, was a signwriter, so it makes her feel closer to him when she incorporates signwriting into murals. |
