Elizabeth Lacey was born in Toronto, Ontario Canada. As a child she always loved the used of colour, she used the play the colour game with her neighbor to see how many different colours she could wear at once. As she grew older she began to graduate towards fabric, ribbons, beads and whatever else she could find.
In 1989 she was married and her mother-in-law introduced her into the world of quilting. It was from that moment that the creative juices started flowing. There were so many new materials and techniques that were available to expand her artistic talents. Elizabeth joined the Prince Edward County Quilters Group, a very talented and accomplished group of women fiber artists. In 2004 some of my pieces were entered in the Picton Fair in Ontario where they won first, second and third place honours. I have also done a commission piece for Carmela Estates Winery, a 6ft x 6ft wallhanging which sits in their Vines restaurant. I have donated many of my pieces to my childrens functions to raise money for new books and equipment. I have sold several of my pieces around the world, England, Netherlands, Australia, New York, Canada, United States. In my spare time I work in the family vineyard, Lacey Estates Winery Inc., which is located in Prince Edward County, Hillier, Ontario about 2 hours east of Toronto. You can visit the Prince Edward Wine Growers Associations website for information on Wineries and Vineyards in the area. |
