I was born in Brazil and came to the USA in 1987. I didn't fell in love with art until the 90's. It was time of great revolution within. I started to paint and I painted everything. I painted rocks, vases, furniture and clothing, my own as well. I gave away over the years most of my art. I enrolled in college in my late 30's and obtained a bachelor of social work. I worked for Child Protective Services for 12 years and another year working for another agency. In between there was great upheaval and turbulence in my life. I had to move to a small apartment and was not able to do my paintings. I fell in love with oil painting. The moment I put those colors in the canvas, it was a world of movement and life, sadness and happiness as well. Then I went back to college in 2010 for graduate studies. I obtained a Master of Social Work. I am not working right now and I am devoting all my time, love and energy to paint. I didn't realize how much I missed painting. My love for the arts runs deep. I love writing poetry, I love to listen to music, mostly all genres, any one that touches and moves my soul and heart. It has been a long road, filled with tears, sadness and a determination to continue to paint against all odds.
