J. Rathmann founded ideism on the idea that an artistic work can focus on ideas rather than feelings.
Ideism is almost psychometric in nature, focusing on what the artist was thinking and how it relates to his/her use of color, angle, design, and other aspects implemented into the work. Making art out of a thought instead of a feeling also broadens the market to the more sociopathic crowd who choose to critique more than be inspired by, and shields the viewer from protentially hazardous second-hand emotions. |
