Recognized as one of the great art events in Latin America, ArtRio brings together the main galleries in the country.

For the first time, ArtRio organized its galleries into two pavilions, called Mar e Terra, a reference to the location of each one. In the case of the Mar Pavilion – on the Esplanade of Marina da Glória – the name is an allusion to the postcard view of Guanabara Bay.

Amidst the privileged scene, the pavilion was dedicated to special projects, closely monitored by award-winning architect Pedro Évora. The programs included: VISTA, for galleries under 10 years old; SOLO, with stands dedicated to a single artist and which this year was curated by collector Ademar Britto; EXPANSION, which covers institutions and social projects; Magazines and Publishers; and MIRA, a program curated by Victor Gorgulho and Henrique Rondinelli with daily video art projections.

The Terra Pavilion, an indoor area of Marina da Glória, was attended by the great galleries of the national circuit. And the FOCO Award stand, presented by the Vale Cultural Institute, which exhibited works by the 6 artists selected in this edition.
